What Makes A Great Hot Tub

Some people might consider that the price has everything to do with it but in my view they could be very wrong.

Somebody else might say that the most sold spa in the World is perhaps the best. I have to say that I doubt that very much. That would be the same as saying the most sold of anything is the best and I am sure we all know that cannot be true as the best is always a bit exclusive and to be exclusive you can not be the most sold item. It is as if you were the most common so that argument, in my opinion, fails to hold water and to underline the point for example a Bentley or Rolls Royce car might be one of the best cars in the world but it is not the most sold car in the world.

The best built Hot Tub in the World - yes that's more like it perhaps combined with the best Value Spa in the world. So we are looking for the combination of two factors high build 5B4quality and a top product coupled with value for money.

Now the question is how you get the best built Hot Tub in the world.

Well for starters you might consider the following:-

A good acrylic shell like one from Lucite a top quality North American manufacturer who has been around for a long while. Something like 30 to 40 years so they know their onions as I would say.

A layer of ABS with proper hand laid glass fiber to provide added strength and rigidity to the shell.

Some careful consideration and calculations need to be made based on the actual water volumes and pipe work. Careful thought of plumbing lay out combined with a manifold plumbing system. This to ensure efficiency in the plumbing and keep the operating noise to a minimum. That way you will not have to fully foam the spa as some makers do allegedly to reduce the noise of the water going through the pipes but more likely to add extra strength to their shells.

So we have a shell and some pipe work so what else do we need?

Some Jets would be a good idea to introduce the water into the Hot Tub and here I would suggest not those that are merely copied from years ago but those that can take air and mix with water in the jets system. This effect supercharges the water increasing the flow and strength considerably. Also it is always good if the jets are fully adjustable.

Now we need some good pumps coupled with proper strength motors.5B4

Motors to drive the pumps and pumps to drive the water now that makes some sense.

Of course we do not want any under powered motors we need those that work well and have good reliability to provide an anticipated long life.

We need proper western pumps made to either North America or European standards

We need a heater and some controls commonly referred to as a Spa pack.

This is of course very important as it works the whole system of the Jacuzzi the only two that spring to mind are Balboa and Gecko both well known makes.

If the Spa you are thinking of does not have controls from either of those think again or better still simply ask the sales man why they dont and what make do they have.

What else perhaps an Air Blower would be good.

Some Ozone and I hear you saying what's that? Everybody I ask says they know what it is but I doubt it somewhat. Ozone is something many of us have heard of but do not really know what it is.

Ozone is a form of "supercharged or active oxygen", nature's very own special molecule and interestingly enough the composition of one ozone molecule contains three oxygen atoms.

Ozone is created automatically in nature by the process of mixing together, oxygen from the air with ultraviolet rays from the sun or by the very tremendous power generated by an electrical discharge during a lightning storm.

Obviously there are many other points to 4DFgive consideration to such as Aroma therapy and of course one needs to carefully consider the Electrical requirements required and of course a Site Survey is most essential.

This article is not meant to be exhaustive but to provide an indication of some of the items required when considering the purchase of a Hot Tub Jacuzzi Spa.
